Letting go of the expectations of others--or even your own expectations--is challenging at best, but on the other side of it, is home.
Eloping is a coming home to yourself and your love. And, you deserve a wedding experience that feels safe, present, and entirely you.
Let me come alongside you, and help you plan your biggest adventure yet.
You always search for the deeper meaning in life, do things a little differently, and feel deeply at home in nature.
So naturally, the traditional wedding scene doesn't feel quite right to you, and you know what? That's okay. You want a different kind of wedding experience, one that is a true and bold representation of your love story--one that sings to your soul.
Well, wanderer, look no further. I want to empower you to have the best day ever and connect with your truest self. Are you ready?
Eloping with my love in Yosemite changed my life.
We said our vows in the morning with a granite sea as our background. With 11 of our closest friends and family to witness it, we all shared happy tears, and awed at the majesty of Mother Earth.
That day felt like a dream and entirely us, and that's exactly what it was. We sat in a meadow, hiked, and watched the most spectacular sunrise and sunset we ever laid eyes on.
Since that experience, it's my passion and mission to empower other couples like you to make the dauntless decision to elope in nature, and to help you realize a wedding day that represents the two of you fully.
Your North Georgia
Elopement Photographer
specializing in intentional,
earth-friendly elopements.
To you, eloping no longer means getting married on a whim or in secret. It's not frivolous, quick, or shameful. Instead, you're making a choice to elope out of self-awareness because you want a day true to your love story and a day good for our amazing Earth. Eloping is a way to live your life out with intention, and avoid the set of expectations of how you should "settle down."
After all, I eloped too, and can empathize with planning stress, and have years of experience helping other couples through this process!
Words cannot express how amazing Kayla is as a person and a photographer. She put so much time and effort into our elopement and it made the day more perfect than I could have ever imagined. She immediately started scouting hikes and locations that would accommodate Ryan’s grandmothers for the ceremony and us for our private hike. I’m a naturally stressed person all the time over schedules and details and I have never stressed from start to finish with her. With Kayla, there was never a reason to worry. She had itineraries, back up plans, back up plans to the back up plans. She packed everything we would have possibly needed in her hiking pack to ensure our day was perfect. Thank you so much for such a perfect wedding!!
Kayla is an incredible photographer and an even more incredible person! Kayla surpassed our expectations as far as getting to know us, her expert-level knowledge about the areas we were interested in visiting/taking photos, and her kindness every step of the way. She placed special emphasis on making sure the day was authentic to us as a couple, and her energy on our special day was super peaceful and made us feel comfortable as we took photos throughout the day (she was with us for 8 hours)! We would 1000% recommend Kayla to anyone seeking a photographer who really cares what your wedding day is about - and that's love. Thank you Kayla!
"Kayla is the absolute best! She is so considerate and helpful and knowledgeable. She went out of her way to make sure we had the best day— she double checked our location and provided a backup when we needed it, built our fire when our fire starter didn’t work, and ran back and forth to our cars when we forgot things. She’s a joy to work with, easy to talk to, and worth every penny. Not to mention our photos are INCREDIBLE. Love love love. 10/10."
"When my love and I decided to get married in just three short weeks, we were overwhelmed with trying to plan everything. We got in contact with Kayla and she was absolutely amazing from the start! I didn’t realize how little I had thought about my wedding day until Kayla, and she went above and beyond the normal duty of a photographer! She helped me plan out the day and visualize what it would look like."
If you need any more reason to elope, elope because it’s kinder to our beautiful planet.
Big, traditional weddings produce hundreds of pounds of garbage, and produce TONS of carbon emissions.
Thankfully, you don’t have to be a part of that. With proper planning, you can have an earth-friendly, low-waste wedding without sacrificing what you value most on your wedding day, and that’s because you’re investing in an experience over STUFF!
My job goes beyond capturing beautiful photographs of your special day. As your elopement photographer, I’m also your planner, your location scouter, your dress fluff-er, your adventure buddy, and friend.
A photographer should capture beautiful photos, but they should also give you a stress-free, genuine experience; they should help you create a relaxing timeline of your day so you can feel present and connected. They should be a source of inspiration, knowledge, and encouragement so that you can create a celebration of love centered entirely on the two of you.
When you know that my excitement, and passion for your day matches yours, you can feel at-ease knowing that you'll be taken care of.
